Elsie Bartlett (née Dossor) 1898 - 1984

Elsie Elsie Bartlett (née Dossor), my grandmother, was born on 13th October 1898 in Hull, East Yorkshire.

Her father was James Dossor, a Grocer's Assistant, and her mother was Edith Dossor (née Allen).

Elsie had two brothers, Stanley (born 1896) and Wilfred (born 20 June 1906 in Hull, died December 1988 in Bath, Somerset) and one sister, Lilian (born 1913 in Hull, married Edward L. Lonsdale in Hull, 1934).

In September 1922 Elsie married Frank Neville Bartlett in Hull and they remained married until he died in Hull on 7th September 1981. Elsie and Frank had only one child, my father Neville (full name James Neville), born in 1929.

Elsie lived in Beverley all her married life. In her younger days she was a keen tennis player and passed on this enthusiasm to my father. Later in life, she played bowls.
